The following facts inspired us to create this app.
In the US alone, over 251,000 patients died in 2016 due to medical errors making it the 3rd largest cause of death in the country. A large portion of the mortalities results from the consumption of incorrect medications.
Worldwide sales of counterfeit drugs crossed over $75 billion in 2010 with more than 75 percent of the counterfeit drugs are connected to the Indian export of generic drugs.
We plan to help people in terms of prevention from consuming or Buying counterfeit drugs or medical equipment in order to eradicate them from the market with the help of our App/website running on blockchain ML/AI technology and Image processing techniques. This will help the people to achieve information regarding the medicine which they are buying with the help of our app that will show all the necessary details such as it’s constituting salts, side effects, age barrier, consumption quantity, MRP and Expiry date in tern spreading awareness among the people about the drugs they are using
We have done this by creating a database for all medicines clinically available. When the consumer scans the medicine or uploads the image of medicine or its package, our database will run tests that include, image comparison, since the counterfeit ones tend to have some difference in the structure, logo, color, packaging and whether it is approved by the drug's association or not. Blockchain technique will keep track of the route of the medicine as to from where they originate in order to help eradicate counterfeit drugs from the market
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Even the vulnerable and marginalized society will have access to our services. Not only helping in making informed choices for our users, indeed educating them about the same. Ensuring the understandability of the domain for non-medical users. While using the technologies like blockchain, we will be locating the fraudsters at the source level and will help the government to ensure authentic products in the market.
Apart from that, In the future, we have a plan to add the feature of adding comments on the medicine page in our repository so that people can get additional information regarding public feedback and warnings regarding that drug so that they can better and informed choices.
