Inspiration

The following facts inspired us to create this app.

In US alone, over 251,000 patients died in 2016 due to medical errors making it the 3rd largest cause of death in the country. A large portion of the mortalities result from consumption of incorrect medications.

Worldwide sales of counterfeit drugs crossed over $75 billion in 2010 with more than 75 percent of the counterfeit drugs are connected to Indian export of generic drugs.

The app checks the QR code if its a legitimate medication

Challenges

10 hour and 30 minute difference in time zones between teammates. Learning curve on how to develop on blockchain. Started team and project 2 days ago.
