Inspiration

This is my first hackathon, and the general focus was to make something basic, but expand my programming skills, while also making something that was legitimately useful and could make a difference. I realize that it can be really hard to come forward to an HR rep, teacher, or family member when facing mental health issues, and in terms of social justice, it is often not talked about enough in the media and can be ignored. Many struggling may not be aware of the many mental health resources available online. This inspired me to make my Chrome extension: Check-in!

What it does

Check-in! will ideally be made to firstly have a pop-up on a company/school's browser launch default website, prompting the user to use the Check-in! exten

How I built it

I used Sublime Text and made a few files and linked them.

Challenges I ran into

I had a lot of homework this weekend and had a hard time with finding enough time to work on this, right now theres only 30 minutes until the deadline :)

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm really proud of the extension, because I actually learned how to make one and actually attended my first Hackathon!

What I learned

Something like using Lucidchart to plan this out next time would be amazing.

What's next for Check-in!

I am going to spend the next few weeks fixing and tweaking things such as the alert system and then hopefully put it out. It only costs $5, so it shouldn't be that bad even if it isn't successful.
