Inspiration

The inspiration behind building Top Bill stems from the vibrant but challenging business landscape in Lagos, the bustling center of commerce in Nigeria. Recognizing the struggles faced by numerous businesses in efficient record-keeping due to limited knowledge and the expense associated with digital tools, the need for a solution became evident.

As the owner of a small online business in this dynamic environment, the personal experience of grappling with the absence of an affordable and accessible tool for invoicing and maintaining a comprehensive record of customer transactions became the driving force. Top Bill was conceived as the go-to application, providing a cost-effective solution to print invoices swiftly and keep track of the intricate details of customer transaction histories.

In essence, Top Bill was born out of a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by local businesses in Lagos, coupled with the aspiration to bridge the gap by offering a practical, affordable, and user-friendly tool that empowers businesses to streamline their record-keeping processes and thrive in a digital era.

The development of Top Bill embraced an offline-first, mobile app approach, leveraging React to craft a progressive web application (PWA). The adoption of this technology stack, along with the integration of MongoDB Realm SDK, was a strategic decision aimed at addressing the specific challenge of ensuring seamless offline functionality
