ChattyDate - an AI Dating Simulator

Inspiration

As individuals in computer science, we recognized that social anxiety is the most prevalent issue in our generation, especially due to the emphasis on digital isolation and social media. As such, we wanted to create a project that would provide people with the opportunity to practice communicating in a safe environment.

What it does

Customize the personality traits of the AI chatbot to practice communicating in a controlled manner.

How we built it

The chatbot was built using the AWS PartyRock Bedrock Playground. Static and user input boxes were used to allow customization of the AI chatbot.

Challenges we ran into

There were multiple instances where the input commands were incorrectly interpreted by some of the AI models provided which led to testing of all the models for accuracy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The biggest accomplishment of this project was fully engaging in prompt engineering to create a fully functioning AI dating simulator.

What we learned

We were able to learn how to precisely adjust the temperature and top p settings of the AI chatbot to suit what we think the target population would find entertaining.
