Inspiration
We wanted to make a website that can enable users to find a platform to communicate with each other and build a network. This will help them to make new friends, express their views and have friendly conversations.
How I built it
It was made using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) and Socket.io.
Challenges I ran into
We were all from different time zones so it was difficult to work together, but we were able to use Discord to communicate effectively and update each other before going to bed.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were all new to React so it was a great learning experience to make a project being able build a web application from ideation to execution in 48 hours especially with the conflicting time zone.
What's next for Chatterpillar
We hope in the future to add a feature where it shows a list of users and a list of rooms that are open to join. Also hoping to continue to improve the UI.
