Inspiration

Motivated by the pandemic and me wanting to do a better job of reaching out to my friends. I have a small circle of people I chat with regularly, but I'm not as good at remembering to reach out to my friends outside of that circle.

What it does

Imports contact data from a users device to a local database, and then sends automated notifications once a week to reach out to a random person from the contact list.

How I built it

Kotlin and Android studio. Also used XML for displaying the UI, and SQL for querying the database.

What's next for Chatter

Feature to toggle which contacts to be included on the list to reach out to, adjustable frequency for sending notifications, contact groups.
