Inspiration

The Virtual STEM Tutor.

What it does

My project is a chatbot that answers questions that are JUST related to STEM. This will be a great addition to schools, as it integrates AI in a very focused manner on STEM education and students cannot search any non-educational information using AI. This would restrict the students from getting distracted into non-educational content, at the same time enhancing their learning experience.

How we built it

I build it using mainly using Chatling, and I used tools such as textbooks and websites for the chatbot to reference on when the user asks a question.

Challenges we ran into

One main challenge I ran into was, when the program asks the user for their name, and the user responds [anything], the bot takes the [anything] as the user's name. So I had to set a confirmation procedure to resolve this issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that this chatbot can answer ALMOST anything related to STEM.

What we learned

I learnt that Computer Science is not only about coding, but it is also about setting up a good system, and a good roadmap.

What's next for ChatNinja - 1.0

I need to enhance the program more, maybe by making its interface better.
