Inspiration
The inspiration for this project comes from our passion as a team for AI and learning more about how it works. This was a great opportunity for us to use the well-built tools that our predecessors have created.
What it does
This chatbot is fully automated and can take the place of live employees to provide basic information that is stored in the AutoNation company database. It can perform simple tasks such as telling clients about the store hours, the location, existing orders, and appointments.
How we built it
We were able to make this by using IBM Watson Assistant, an intelligent virtual agent, and implementing all of the information provided by AutoNation.
Challenges we ran into
There were certainly a lot of challenges we ran into because of how specific and finicky AI can be, as well as the amount of time that we had to complete this project.
What we learned
We certainly learned a lot about how the assistant works through a lot of trial and error and participating in ShellHacks was an invaluable experience.
