Inspiration

A world where impact is actualized, traceable all while redistributing positive sum benefits to communities that's doing the work on the ground. We aim to be the go to platform for verifying, tracing and actualizing impact.

What it does

Allows for anyone to submit proof of impact which then gets verified by a third party to unlock verified impact certificates, all while generating yield from the main liquidity pool.

How we built it

We built it by having a web2 dApp for data collection which is stored on chain. This data is then used to be bundled up in the form of metadata for these "carbon-backed NFTs" which contain various metadata such as name of impact, location, amount, methodology used, verification & transaction links and much more.

Challenges we ran into

Funding has been one of the challenges. Connecting with fellow buidlers on NEAR and connect within the ecosystem. Another challenge has been onboarding non web3/ non crypto parties however we learnt to keep the blockchain aspects in the backend. On/offramp challenges as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Onboarded first 10 non web3 communities in the form of Waste centers and 30 waste pickers, minting 10 verified impact certificates.

What we learned

When onboarding, ensure the UI UX is as friendly as possible to onboard non-web3 organizations or players that are not into crypto.

What's next for CHATAFISHA

Introducing NFT staking and yield generating liquidity pools for these impact projects and funders. Part of our revampment of the UI is also introducing independent 3rd party verifiers to unlock ecological credits including a variety of ecological activities such as biodiversity, marine conservation, renewable energy and much more.
