Project Description: Listen to Me/Chat with Me

Inspiration

The Listener App was inspired by the simple but powerful idea that sometimes, all people need is someone to listen. I’ve seen how being heard can make a difference in someone’s life, especially for those dealing with depression. This app was built to provide a safe, anonymous space where users can share their thoughts without judgment.

How I Built It

The app uses AI for empathetic, text-based conversations, built with:

• Frontend: vanilla JS
• AI/NLP: AI on Chrome, Gemini Nano
• Database: No Database, we don't store anything

I focused on simplicity in the user interface and made privacy the top priority.

Challenges Faced

Some challenges included:

• Making the prompts so the AI to be sensitive but neutral.
• Designing a platform that feels welcoming and trustworthy.
• In my case "TIME", as I started very late

The Goal

The Listener App aims to be a friend when someone needs one the most—an ever-available listener to help lighten the emotional load.
