About the Project: Chat with History
Inspiration
The inspiration for Chat with History came from a fascination with the untold stories of historical figures and the desire to make learning history more interactive and accessible. What if you could directly converse with Cleopatra, Leonardo da Vinci, or Albert Einstein? This idea sparked the creation of a bot that bridges the gap between past and present through conversation.
What I Learned
Developing Chat with History helped honing our skills in natural language processing (NLP), AI model training, and user experience design, teaching us the importance of accuracy and engagement in educational technology.
How I Built It
Utilising the comprehensive set of development tools offered by Bedrock, I began my project by experimenting with the platform's features. Initially, I focused on understanding how different widgets could interact within the suite. Through trial and error, exploring multiple configurations, I iteratively refined the process until the project aligned with my vision.
Challenges Faced
The most unexpected challenge was fine-tuning the prompts to achieve the desired behaviour. Specifically, getting a widget to switch characters with year changes or page refreshes proved difficult, requiring several iterations to resolve.
Conclusion
Chat with History is a small but fun project born out of curiosity, crafted with care, and refined through challenges. We hope it inspires a new generation to explore history, not just through books and lectures, but through conversations with those who made it.
