We entered the hackathon to challenge ourselves and improve our Python skills by building a practical, data-driven project. Our program suggests the best suburbs to open a business by comparing nearby activity (density) and competition, using a simple scoring system. We built it using basic Python concepts such as lists, loops, and dictionaries, generating our own data, cleaning it, and then sorting and displaying the results. A key challenge was initially using complex tools and external datasets, which caused errors and made the program harder to manage, so we simplified our approach. We are proud that we created a fully working solution using only fundamental Python, and through this process we strengthened our understanding of problem-solving and debugging. In the future, we would like to expand the project by using real data, improving the scoring system, and adding a simple user interface.
