Charon

Inspiration

Put it simply, we want to change the narrative on NFT's, to a process that doesn't rug.

We want to give first time NFT buyers, who are usually completely new to crypto and holding your their keys a profitable and not fraudulent experience. The Charon concept by design gives artists a platform that creates sustainable cash flows and a guaranteed floor price for their art.

What it does

Use multi-sig technology and code as always to place 66% of the proceeds of the white sale into high yield DeFi that returns this stream of cash flow to NFL owners in perpetuity.

How we built it

We bootstrapped a React.js front end to help drive a dashboard visualization for enabling users towards a roadmap where they can see the use case for a clear use for visualizing their portfolio, their impact on the community, and community leaders who would be involved and engaged on the platform on behalf of users.

Challenges we ran into

Time and trying to balance our work while learning react.js on the go as we built the platform. We were able to combine both the possibility for the platform on the UI aspect with the realization that down the line, we have room to incorporate our own chain SDK on the backend to help open that NFT interface for artists to help provide their artwork to the chain.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the fact that we are able to take the classic chain protocol and build a story around how this platform can take existing chain rains, and use that as a driver to transfer value from that created by artists through their visual and intellectual property, quantify that value, and help deliver that value back to their own communities through the chain. At the same time, we were able to identify how multi-sig protocols can be incorporated to protect those artists, and protect the end users and community.

What we learned

We learned just how much interest and use case there is for a new SaaS NFT platform in the non-profit space. Use cases that other platforms and NFT protocols were previously ignoring have been underserved or not realized to the extent that we can enable with Charon.

What's next for Charon

There is a tremendous room for growth for the protocol and platform. We have opportunity to incorporate a native multi-sig chain, along with the staking of NFTs on the platform itself. There are areas for integration for many multiple actors on Charon, including community organizers and non-profits who would be able to deploy NFT fractional shares towards real social causes, and provide an end-to-end ecosystem of NFT enabled social benefit. Down the line, we imagine a platform where community involvement can be combined with local political causes, where we can have NFTs be the driver for aligning political strategy with local engagement.
