Inspiration

Recently many of us been shocked when OnlyFan publicly announced they will close accounts that held explicit content, I felt like I can loose the connection I have with my favorites erotic content creators. On top of this creators would lose their income meaning they would be left alone with no business, Sex industry is very wild and many middleman prevent creators from having a fair interaction with their content consumers.

What it does

CHARM aims on giving tools to the explicit content creation industry, to allow content creators and users to have a healthy and sturdy relationship based on their own trust powered by Solana's Ecosystem.

How we built it

Let's not reinvent the wheel but let's make it better!

With all the material given by Metaplex, Phantom, Anchor, Solana... we inspired from the best to adapt and give a private approach about NFT. Decentralization being a true issue, we are working to build a workfull and entertaining application then to push decentralization to it's finest.

Challenges we ran into

  • Make sure injected wallet is connected at all times through all pages with anchor framework
  • Arweave integration
  • Making sure the media would remain private at all times
  • Working as a worldwide project with various Timezones
  • Making Blockchain an essential feature over Web2

Accomplishments that we're proud of :

One big issues around NFT is that people can publicly retrieve the media since it's a decentralized public asset. CHARM is proud to be proposing an evolving mechanism to publicly displaying blurred images to tease the user. He will have the ability to come to CHARM website to see the full image for a very small amount (Like function) with very low fees thanks to Solana, buy it for his personal memory or for having a special request made to the user.

What we learned

Blockchain is a powerful tool that brings interesting ideas but a lot of security issues. I believe this is a step we have to gap before it's mainstream and the major issues are well known and fixed. It's a never-ending learning curve as individuals and as a group. Enabling people to work seamlessly worldwide around a common idea within a flat and decentralized team.

What's next for CHARM

  • Make the connection more seamless.
  • Improve the UX design, flow, number of clicks, feel.
  • Engage community to vote features they want to see implemented.
