Inspiration
We wanted to make a fun hardware hack that users could interact with.
What it does
Fundamentally it is similar to basketball, where you and a teammate try to score a basket. After a certain score, the difficulty is increased by robot moving around.
How we built it
With duct tape and dreams
Challenges we ran into
Several hardware issues and faulty cameras
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Handcrafted backboard absorbs impact and redirects balls for better playing experience
What we learned
Test hardware before you use it
What's next for Charlie the BasketBot
More interactive game modes, and an AI object detector to automatically count score
