Inspiration
Many people want to donate to charity, but do not want to put in the effort to find a charity they care about, so they end up not. We wanted to ease the process for these people.
What it does
We currently have two main features:
- An interactive map that will display charities based on your search in the search bar.
- A auto-donation bar, which will distribute your donation among many different charities based on how closely they align with the cause you wanted to support.
How we built it
We used the basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript stack, along with bootstrap, for our display. To collect and analyze the data, we used various different APIs.
What's next for Charity Search Engine
If we had more time, we would finish developing our second page to our website, which would be a Strava-styled social media that allows people to show off their donations to their friends. Similar to Strava, we would be able to tap into the joy of showing off accomplishments to boost donations.
