Inspiration
We wanted to help low-income communities globally using a search engine and pre-existing charities.
What it does
It helps users find Charities worth donating to using 3 different languages.
How we built it
Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, our group crafted a dynamic website and search engine. Using programs such as Visual Studio Code, Adobe Photoshop, and Google Chrome, we perfected our website in 9 hours.
Challenges we ran into
Creating a random and selective button for our search bar was very difficult, resulting in 9 hours of work for our JavaScript team. Through help from mentors, we finally overcame the task after hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The perseverance that our team displayed throughout the day. The ability to incorporate many aspects of HTML, CSS, and Javascript into one website.
What we learned
How to successfully integrate several languages into one website, in which they work in harmony to assist the user.
What's next for Charities for Change
Charities for Change hopes to one day host it's own site, helping communities in need. We hope MIT gives us a chance.
