Charitap turns everyday purchases into effortless micro-donations for causes users care about with blockchain and Solana-backed transparency for donors, admins, and nonprofits across the web.
Inspiration: Charitap was inspired by the idea that many of the current Gen Zs want to give back, but donating often feels inconvenient, pressured, or unclear.
Problem: Many users do not carry cash, do not have an easy way to connect with local charities, and often do not know where their donations actually go.
Project Idea: We built Charitap as a micro-donation platform that rounds up everyday online purchases and turns spare change into automatic donations.
What We Learned: We learned how to build an end-to-end full-stack system, connect frontend and backend services, manage user preferences, calculate roundups, and track donations.
Challenges: The biggest challenges were making the platform easy to use, calculating donation roundups correctly, handling monthly or threshold-based payments, and building user trust through transparent donation tracking.
Impact: Charitap makes giving simple, automatic, and accessible by turning small everyday purchases into meaningful charitable impact.
