Inspiration
Smart cities are being built currently. We try to tackle the problem of not having enough available charging spots for your EV. With increase in population and a limited space in a city, we thought of building a platform that would solve this problem. Our inspiration is Neom: THE LINE, which depicts what cities of the future will look like!
What it does
It is an iOS app that lets you rent your own garage space or driveway space and power outlets so that others in need can charge their EV. In return the host will be paid by the renter a nominal fee.
How we built it
We split our tasks into backend and frontend. 2 of us are working on frontend, and the other 2 on backend. SwiftUI is the frontend stack and on the backend nodejs, MongoDB is being used.
Challenges we ran into
- Deployment of backend to cloud
- Domain deployment
- Frontend and backend integration testing, etc.
- Quality of UI/UX under such limited time is bound to compromise
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We built a fully functional end-to-end mobile app (MVP)
- We deployed our backend to the cloud
- We did not sleep!
What we learned
Bringing a simple idea to life is not as easy as it seems.
