Inspiration

Preparing chargeback responses can be time-consuming for small sellers. Chargeback Court organizes disputes and evidence to help them prepare a response.

What it does

The app lists open disputes with buyer claim, amount and response deadline. A weighted checklist turns the evidence a seller confirms into a transparent score, and each case shows a recommendation - accept, offer, or fight - presented as a recommendation, never a ruling. On request, a drafting step produces the seller's statement: a Nebius Nemotron model may only select and arrange sentences that restate the confirmed evidence, and an extractive guard rejects output that does not match those sentences; with no AI key configured, the app uses grounded templates instead. Every filing action opens a review-and-confirm step. The public demo runs on synthetic sandbox data; the PayPal Disputes API integration is implemented in the code and activates when sandbox credentials are configured.

How we built it

Next.js 16 with TypeScript and Tailwind; AG Grid Community for the docket; the PayPal Disputes API on its hard-coded sandbox host; Nebius Token Factory's Nemotron-3-Nano-30B-A3B for the guarded drafting; rate-limited API routes; MIT-licensed.

Challenges

Drafting without inventing. A free-form model can state facts the seller never confirmed. The implementation restricts drafting to selecting and arranging exact sentences derived from the confirmed checklist, and an extractive guard rejects output - including reworded inventions - that does not match them.

Accomplishments

The guarded drafting path checks every sentence of model output against the confirmed-evidence sentences before anything is shown. Scoring is a transparent heuristic, not win odds. No automatic filings - the seller reviews and confirms every action.

What we learned

Prompt wording alone cannot bound model output; enforcing grounding in code makes the check testable (covered by unit tests).

What's next

Migrate the drafting model ahead of Nemotron-3-Nano's Nov 9, 2026 retirement on Nebius; production PayPal app approval; more dispute types; buyer-message drafting with the same grounding.
