Gasha

The inspiration behind Gasha is focused around the Japanese mythology of the Starving Skeleton, also known as Gashadokuro. The quick story behind it is that it's made up of skulls who have died on the battlefield. Designing characters for a fighting game themed around stories of death and undeath, this mythical creature would fit in perfectly.

Dia

The inspiration behind Dia is of course a reference to the Mexican Holiday, Dia de Los Muertos. Her place in the fighting game roster was to be your classic fighter such as Ryu from Street Fighter. Giving her a more sporty outfit with exaggerated Cestus helped reinforce that role. I gave more attention to her gauntlets with patterns resembling sugar skulls that are popular in Dia de Los Muertos.

Ferryman

The inspiration from the Ferryman derives the from Greek mythology, Charon. I wanted to have a more creative approach with Ferryman with his design so that he could stand out from his other iterations in pop culture. To still keep with the trend that he still sails, a modern sea captain proved to be a fun challenge to incorporate his look. The paddle was too iconic to replace however so I kept that part from the original mythology.
