Character Design of Dia Muerta

This piece presents the final design of the character, Dia Muerta, from my projects fictional fighting game known as Dead Heads. The piece shows a detailed look at her weapon and alternate designs.

The inspiration behind Dia is of course a reference to the Mexican Holiday, Dia de Los Muertos. Her place in the fighting game roster was to be your classic fighter such as Ryu from Street Fighter. Giving her a more sporty outfit with exaggerated Cestus helped reinforce that role. I gave more attention to her gauntlets with patterns resembling sugar skulls that are popular in Dia de Los Muertos.
