CHAOUI-BLOCK – A Revolutionary Construction System

I have recently filed a national patent for CHAOUI-BLOCK, an innovative modular system for building vaults, domes, and tall structures with exceptional speed, low cost, and minimal equipment. It offers a wide range of applications, including:

✅ Industrial and cold storage warehouses ✅ Bunkers, tunnels, coastal protection and bridges ✅ Raw material storage (including water 💧 and electricity ⚡ – molten salts) ✅ Shops, markets, theatres, and cinemas ✅ Accessible stormwater drainage systems 💧 ✅ Churches, Mosques, schools, and train stations ✅ High-rise hydroponic farming 🌿 supported by cabling ✅ Animal production and aquaculture hangars ✅ Residential and tourism infrastructure, etc.

This innovative system enables rapid and low-cost construction of very tall, resilient structures, using minimal material and equipment. It is suitable for temporary or permanent installations, and supports above-ground, semi-buried, or underground layouts. It offers:

✅ High structural stability (freedom of shape) ✅ Excellent seismic resistance ✅ Eco-friendly and scalable construction methods

Our technology draws inspiration from the ancient knowledge of our ancestors, who built architectural marvels using vaults that have withstood the test of time, enduring centuries and even millennia. By integrating this timeless wisdom with modern expertise and cutting-edge technologies, we have developed a solution that not only honors the past but is designed for the challenges of today.

Our approach aims to create resilient, efficient, and eco-friendly structures that will stand the test of time, offering a sustainable solution for the future.

The blocks can be made from different types of concrete, especially a new lightweight, high-performance cellular concrete that uses no sand — only fine, locally available materials. They can be manufactured using simple steel molds or factory prefabrication.

We are collaborating with our Canadian partner CARBOSPHERE to use a green and circular composite for military, logistics, humanitarian aid, and water systems. This material is impact-resistant, lightweight, and durable – ideal for long-lasting pallets and protective structures.

We also use stabilized soils (desert sand, mining waste, construction debris) treated with modern acrylic polymers, achieving compressive strengths of 25–30 MPa, perfect for affordable, load-bearing foundations.

CHAOUI-BLOCK enables revolutionary urban planning and underground cities, promoting energy savings, water efficiency, and disaster resilience. Above ground, it allows for Babylon-style hanging gardens and vertical farms, at a fraction of current costs, greatly enhancing land value.

This revolutionary invention also enables the creation of large-diameter stormwater drainage networks that are walkable, faster, and cheaper to build than current technologies. These networks could be connected to low-cost underground water reservoirs, optimizing water resource management for green space irrigation. 💧🌱

Armed forces would greatly benefit from this technology, thanks to its ability to rapidly deploy earthquake-resistant and economical hangars and bunkers, which are also easily transportable. In response to modern threats (drones, robots, smart missiles), these structures effectively protect soldiers and equipment. 🛡️

Industrial players could quickly set up low-cost, fire- and earthquake-resistant hangars with excellent thermal insulation and high ceilings. Their modular design allows for easy relocation or resale.

This solution is also ideal for the storage of raw materials, including hydrocarbons, fertilizers, cement, and water, at much lower cost than traditional methods, with enhanced security against all kinds of threats.

The CHAOUI-BLOCK can be used also for ultra-high hydroponic vertical farming systems, exceeding 50 meters in height, supported by cable-stayed structures and integrated harvesting/treatment systems

Finally, CHAOUI-BLOCK offers fast, affordable shelter solutions for disaster zones, refugee camps, and rapidly growing cities.

The invention of CHAOUI-BLOCK have just won a gold Medal at the ICAN 2025 Canadian invention competition
