Chanuka## was inspired by the recent Gen Z uprising in Kenya, where they rallied against the Finance Bill being imposed on citizens. This movement led people to scrutinise other government actions, uncovering decisions made without public awareness.

Chanuka simplifies and explains every bill passed by the government, making it accessible and easy to understand for all Kenyans. The information can be shared via SMS or USSD, and citizens can also rate the performance of MPs, governors, senators, and other leaders. The mobile app was developed using Flutter and Dart, with a backend powered by Laravel and a frontend built in React. Time constraints limited us to developing only the mobile app, leaving out some features we initially planned. We successfully launched a functional mobile app that is user-friendly and gained valuable insights on how to scale the platform. We gained a deeper understanding of civic education and the importance of building solutions that serve the community. Our next steps include gathering feedback from more users to enhance the service and make it even more user-friendly and accessible.
