💡 Inspiration
Chanting and contemplative reading offer mental tranquility and focus. However, many digital prayer apps are cluttered with intrusive ads, require continuous internet connections, or make it hard for seniors to follow chanting rhythms. Chant was built as a clean, peaceful digital sanctuary for everyone.
🎮 What it does
- Extensive Spiritual Library: Contains essential daily morning & evening chants, protective prayers, and the complete 45 volumes of the Pali Tipitaka (Thai script).
- Real-Time Karaoke Highlighting: Synchronizes audio recitation with real-time line-by-line highlighting so practitioners can chant along with ease.
- True Book Typography: Thoughtfully paginated reading view with custom font scaling controls designed specifically for all generations, including elders.
- Privacy & Serenity: 100% offline functionality, zero intrusive ads, and a private daily chanting streak counter.
🛠️ How we built it
- Architecture: Developed with TypeScript and modern web standards wrapped natively via Capacitor for iOS & Android.
- Audio Synchronization Engine: Custom stanza-timed playback engine that accurately follows cadence and pagination flips.
- Offline Data Storage: Compressed high-density local database allowing all 45 volumes of scriptures to reside directly on the device with zero network overhead.
