Inspiration
Addictions as a whole inspired us. Looking around seeing people smoking or vaping, or ourselves doomscrolling for hours on end, procrastinating instead of doing something more productive. Many of us including ourselves wish that we could stop all these activities and do something more proactive, but the dopamine hit has a really tight grip on us. So we decided to focus on this issue to try and combat addiction while also cultivating good habits, using AI also to try and keep you on track to motivate you to keep going.
What it does
Tracks your good habits and earn points daily. The more points you have you would be able to redeem it for vouchers and promotions
How we built it
As we both have very limited coding knowledge, primarily from university, we resorted to figma to come up with a rough idea on what it would look like and how the pages interact with each other
Challenges we ran into
The limited time, due to the limited duration we have and that we do not stay nearby, trying to do it physically is tough, and trying to ideate and then produce something within less then 3 days is very tight as well
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As our first hackathon we're proud that we came up with something, especially something as niche as being a founder/entrepreneur
What we learned
We learnt what to expect from a hackathon and what participating in one is like, and look forward to more to come
What's next for Changing Habits
Being more consistent in the ideation and production of this. Being our first hackathon and only knowing university level stuff of code, while excited to participate we know we wouldn't stand a chance in winning and thus kind of low motivation to concentrate on this. We plan to improve our coding abilities and try and be a competitive in the future :)
