Inspiration:

ChangeAIPay started with a simple question: why should moving your own money have to come with a transaction fee?

I wanted to explore what a payment experience could look like if payments were designed around zero transaction fees, fast settlement, cross-border use, and AI from the beginning rather than adding AI as a separate chatbot after the payment system already exists.

The idea evolved into ChangeAIPay: an AI-native payment platform with dedicated Personal and Merchant experiences. Personal users can send, receive, request, and make QR payments, while merchants have their own payment and dashboard experience. Fina, the Personal AI assistant, is designed to make payment actions conversational while keeping traditional interfaces available for users who prefer them.

What it does:

ChangeAIPay is designed as an AI-native payment platform for consumers and merchants.

Users can explore payment flows such as sending and receiving money, requesting payments, QR payments, merchant payments, wallet management, and cross-border payment experiences. The platform is designed around zero transaction fees for payments, with Nano providing the underlying payment infrastructure.

The project also introduces Fina, an AI financial assistant concept designed to help users interact with their finances through natural language rather than navigating every financial action manually.

How I built it:

I built ChangeAIPay as a web application that can also be packaged for Android.

The project uses:

  • React + TypeScript for the application
  • Vite for development and builds
  • Tailwind CSS for the interface
  • Nano as the planned payment infrastructure
  • RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management
  • Capacitor/Android for the mobile application layer

The application includes Personal and Merchant experiences, payment flows, QR interactions, Nano wallet concepts, subscription experiences, and the Fina AI assistant concept.

The submitted application demonstrates the product experience through prototype/demo flows rather than processing real-money transactions.

Challenges I ran into:

One of the biggest challenges was building a complex financial product as a solo founder while keeping the experience simple for the end user.

I had to think through both sides of the payment ecosystem—people sending money and businesses accepting it—while also designing around a zero-transaction-fee model.

Another challenge was deciding what to build first. ChangeAIPay has a much larger long-term vision, so I focused on creating a coherent prototype that demonstrates the core product experience instead of trying to make every planned feature production-ready at once.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of:

I’m proud of turning a broad fintech concept into a working, interactive product experience covering both consumer and merchant use cases.

The project brings together payments, QR interactions, Nano-based payment concepts, subscriptions, mobile deployment, and an AI-native financial assistant into one product.

Most importantly, I built the project as a solo founder, taking the idea from concept and product design through implementation and mobile packaging.

What I learned:

Building ChangeAIPay taught me that creating a fintech product is much more than designing a payment screen.

The difficult part is connecting identity, account creation, payment flows, merchant experiences, security concepts, subscriptions, currencies, AI interaction, and mobile deployment into one coherent experience.

I also learned the importance of clearly separating what is demonstrated today from what belongs to the long-term product architecture. That helped me build the prototype honestly while keeping the larger vision clear.

What's next for ChangeAIPayApp:

The next stage is to continue moving ChangeAIPay from an interactive prototype toward a production-ready financial platform.

That includes expanding the real payment infrastructure, strengthening security and identity flows, developing Fina into a functional AI financial assistant, expanding merchant capabilities, and improving the Android experience.

The long-term vision is to make payments feel less like navigating financial infrastructure and more like simply telling your money what to do—while keeping the underlying payment experience fast, accessible, and free of transaction fees.
