Change the World

The Change the World app would enable a user’s smartphone to virtually collect change from cash transactions. Utilizing Near Field Communication ("NFC"), the smartphone would communicate with a NFC-enabled point-of-sale device to either (a) transfer the change to the customer’s bank account in a reverse debit-type transaction, or (b) accumulate the change to a merchant prepaid card. The app would leverage existing rails—such as the credit and debit card networks—to ensure immediate and quality operability.
