Change our Climate App

Inspiration

Climate change is a big issue in today's society. We wanted to spread awareness for the topic by developing an app that organizes the latest news articles and provides users with volunteer opportunities to aid in the cause.

What it does

The climate change app organizes the latest news articles on climate change and provides them with volunteer opportunities to get involved.

How I built it

We used figma, android-studio, and java we wrote a program

Challenges I ran into

I had a lot of trouble setting up the initial Android studio environment linking web links into our project that were activated by the press of a button.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This is one of the first times using android studio and Figma and my team was able to successfuly bring a web application to life.

What I learned

The basics of developing android apps, and different ways to like the front end to the back end. We also learned about how to deligate tasks and works efficiently over zoom.

What's next for Change our Climate App

Future plans for the Change our Climate App would be too implement a reward system so that when users sign up for an event, share a news article, or sign up for an event they get different badges added to profile.
