So picture this , the ability to both change your community and make smart investment habits with your spare change .

Inspiration

The team consists of two driven entrepreneurs with a dream to change the way people think of Fintech but also care so much about our community. We were inspired by apps like acorn and other Fintech platforms. But we wanted to make sure it was obviously affordable it is to invest. We allow users to have control over their money and their investment through our simple easy to use application.

What it does

The app allows users to invest money into startups and local start-ups to both help community growth and gain a return on their investment. We found that often times people think with investment only those who are super wealthy can participate. Well, we plan to advise people otherwise. Our app uses your spare change as a way to gather and invest money through our application.

How we built it

We build this using react native for the front in for its crisp layout and robust format. Whilst using node js and mongo db for the back end. We also used the stripe API to complete the payment transaction functionality.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some database challenges when getting different passwords to be stored in the data set. Also, I would say that we had trouble when it came to the time frame we had to complete the task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The ability to actually invest, insert money and move money via bank accounts. We are also proud of our social impact potential when it comes to my project as well as the good that will be done for investors and start-up companies.

What we learned

We ended up learning how to use backend databases like mongo db and node js to perform such a task. We also learned how to work in crunch time and create an accurate description or app through what we have produced.

What's next for Change

The next steps that are seeing the impact we are creating among the start community as well as the companies being impacted. In the future we see ourselves perfecting this app and launching it in the near future.
