Inspiration

lack of critical material to face COVID-19 in europe

What it does

Answer the question of “can we go European in our production?”

we are developping a social and technical platform /solution/ tool to :

  1. Identify the origin of all the ingredients
  2. Identify the dependency on external (non European) production
  3. Restore the trust between producers and consumers
  4. Increase people awareness on sustainability as the components origin is identified
  5. Encourage shorter (pan European) supply chain solutions

Our Target audience includes suppliers, producers, companies and end consumers

How we built it

It's still an idea, looking forward to implement it. We will use IoT and Blockchain to make the final product. This hackathon was the opportunity to brainstrom the idea and develop the business model. We started the prototyping with the objective of an MVP in 2 weeks

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was in the technology as we have no expertise in blockchain in the team. We were learning about this technology. We are onboarding a blockchain expert in the team

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We worked as team on a challenge with high impact on our lives. We have identified the following benefits for the different stakeholders as a result for this project:

For suppliers producers and companies:

  1. share their activities' positive impact to build trust with their customers
  2. provide a continuous transparent supply chain
  3. increase company’s credibilities
  4. provide the producer precise market data on who is buying their product
  5. Provide end to end supply chain visibility
  6. provide real life, transparent data from across the supply chain
  7. make market planning and customer satisfaction precise and measurable
  8. provide producers with accurate insight into which parts of their chain are broken and who else already in their ecosystem might be able to help with that

For end consumers:

  1. Ensures transparency in the supply chain
  2. Provide end to end supply chain visibility
  3. Provide real life, transparent data from across the supply chain
  4. Allow customers to base their buying decisions on sustainability, social and environmental impact, etc
  5. Provide the final consumer with the origin details
  6. Allow the customer to verify the liabilities of the taken items
  7. Increase customer satisfaction

What we have learned

Crisis is the opportunity to rebuild, find what works well and what are the weak point. It's the opportunity to resume on good basis, such as transparency. During this weekend, we had discussions, trials, demo, technology reviews and lot of fun. We need to use our technical knowledge to make positive social impact

What's next for Change chain

Build the MVP in the next 2 weeks. We have successfuly managed to have contacts with TCBL to extend our platform to the textile domain. Once we have proven its feasibility on short supply chain
