Inspiration

We wanted to create a chat platform that works across all websites! We thought social media's barrier was that it was limited to one domain so we wanted to create something that surpassed that and this is what we came up with. We also wanted to connect people together because Covid-19 is enforcing social distance and we wanted to help small businesses flourish as well.

What it does

Allow people on the same website to chat with each other.

How I built it

Fire base for authentication and user storage, and HTML and JS for data displaying and calls.

Challenges I ran into

First time using firebase, live updates, first time creating extension!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

WE BUILT THIS APP IN VUE!!!! We started in VUE because we wanted to learn VUE and we got it around 10am on Saturday Monring! We pulled an all nighter haha. Unfortunately to port the chat system from a VUE application to a VUE extension was too hard as we were unfamiliar with the system we rebuilt it in HTML and JS on Saturday at 6pm. What I learned

CODING IS AMAZING, GOOGLE FIREBASE AND MACHINE LEARNING ARE EASY TO CONNECT AND IMPLEMENT!!! Also its not hard to make google chrome extensions!! There are so many ideas that can come to fruition now.

What's next for Ch4tSpace

WE REALLY LOVE THIS IDEA ITS SOO COOL WE ARE SO SHOCKED WE COULDNT FIND SOMETHING LIKE THIS ONLINE.

We plan to develop this further: Use machine learning to prevent harmful messages, verify employees and business owners in our chat, create private chat rooms instead of just one for the domain -> (This we are really close!! Should be done around end of today or Monday morning), Re-develop in Vue or React -> Most probably react! Think of a pricing model and ways to generate users! Create chat bots to deploy to websites with little users to generate traction! The possibilities are vast and we are just getting started!
