Project Story

Inspiration

I was frustrated by having nothing to track the expenses and maintenance of my old Peugeot 106. Over time, it became difficult to remember repairs, costs, and important deadlines, which made managing the car properly a real challenge.

Process

  1. Mindmapping:
I started by creating a mindmap of all the features that would make my daily life easier as a car owner.

  2. Wireframing:
I then designed several wireframes to outline the structure and flow of the application.

  3. Mockups:
After refining the wireframes, I converted them into detailed mockups to visualize the final user experience.

  4. Prototyping with Bolt:
Finally, I linked my Figma file directly to Bolt, allowing for rapid prototyping and streamlined development.

What I Learned

  • How to translate real-world frustrations into actionable features.
  • The importance of structuring an app workflow before development.
  • How to use Figma and Bolt together for efficient, no-code app building.
  • Balancing feature richness with a simple, intuitive user experience.

Challenges

  • Ensuring the app remained easy to use while handling complex data like reminders and reports.
  • Designing a navigation system that allows users to manage multiple vehicles effortlessly.
  • Integrating new features without sacrificing performance or usability.

Outcome

This project turned my initial frustration into a practical tool that helps me—and hopefully many others—take better care of our vehicles.
