Inspiration
The importance of maintaining and analyzing employee data cannot be overstated. The problem is, doing it with an acceptable level of accuracy requires a substantial investment of both time and money, which most small to medium sized enterprises simply cannot afford.
What it does
Cerebro is an employee lifecycle management solution that is designed to connect a wide range of human resource processes from hire to retire! It is a one-stop-shop designed the ease the process of collecting and maintaining employee data, leveraging that data to gain valuable insights, and automating a number of administrative processes so that you can focus on what matters most - your people.
How I built it
I utilised the core technologies at the heart of Quick Base, namely, multiple tables connected in a relational database, formulas to add some level of sophistication to the app, Automations to automate substantial portions of data entry and Pipelines to ensure strong cross-departmental collaboration.
Challenges I ran into
Having never used either Pipelines or Slack before, I had a substantial learning curve ahead of me in that regard. Also, while I’ve used Automations in the past, I’ve never quite used them with this level of sophistication.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The best forms are the ones you never have to fill, and I’m very pleased with how I was able to automate substantial portions of data entry, thereby eliminating human errors and time wastage.
What I learned
Learning to use the power of Pipelines was terrific. Combined with Automations, the applications of this technology are nearly limitless!
What's next for Cerebro ELM
Cerebro does a great job of gathering, managing and automating employee data. The next step is delivering predictive workforce analytics so that businesses can make intelligent, data-powered decisions.
