Inspiration
Ever since we were younger, each of us had a great person we looked up to as an imaginary mentor. For this project we wanted to make this a reality! We are also extremely passionate about financial literacy and hope to bring this essential knowledge to everyone. Financial knowledge is extremely important in these times and being educated about it can change a persons life.
What it does
Cents.ai allows the user to select a great financial leader as a mentor, and then chat with them. The user can ask any questions, from "How can I make a savings plan?" to "What is a single index fund?".
How we built it
For the front-end, we used figma, react, css, and bootstrap. For the back-end we used python, flask, the openai api, and a REST api.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was integrating the the back end to the front-end chat with realtime messages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're extremely proud of being able to integrate multiple components all of our team members are new to, and being able to efficiently delegate, tasks, communicate, and deliver on all of our ideas.
What we learned
We learned a lot about time management, role delegation, prompt engineering, integration, dynamic use of react, and utilizing API's.
What's next for cents.ai
We're going to continue developing the application and using technology such as Eleven Labs to add a voice component to the application to make it more accessible to users. We also want to create a custom avatar that users can add personality to.
