Inspiration

As a lifelong fan of iconic sitcoms and a builder who thrives on small but mighty apps, I wanted to create something fun, nostalgic, and interactive. The idea of combining pop culture with trivia was always bubbling in my mind — and with Bolt, I saw a chance to turn that spark into something sharable.

What it does

CentralPerk is a fan-first trivia app that challenges users with season-wise questions from a beloved sitcom. With 200+ hand-crafted questions across all 10 seasons, it's designed to be a smooth, mobile-friendly quiz experience that brings fans together.

How we built it

The app was built using Bolt's powerful templates and AI prompting. I focused on UI clarity and minimal code to keep it lightweight. I fine-tuned the question set, sorted it by characters and seasons, and deployed the app on Netlify using a clean React-based frontend.

Challenges we ran into

  • Handling character-specific quiz logic across seasons
  • Designing a visually fun but minimal interface within Bolt’s limitations
  • Keeping the trivia both challenging and fair
  • Preventing repetitive question feel without overcomplicating structure

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Fully functional, deployed trivia app with over 200 curated questions
  • Smooth performance on both desktop and mobile
  • Minimal-code solution using Bolt’s prompt power and web deployment magic
  • Fun enough that even non-fans started guessing answers!

What we learned

  • Prompt engineering can power surprisingly complete products when paired with the right structure
  • How small tweaks in quiz logic or UI flow can make a big difference in UX
  • Even nostalgic trivia can evolve into something interactive and meaningful with the right tech

What's next for CentralPerk

  • Add user scoring, leaderboards, and possibly token-based achievement badges
  • Enable multiplayer trivia nights with friends
  • Explore a fan DAO that can contribute new questions or curate themed trivia sets
  • Move from static play to community-led, decentralized trivia experiences — turning fans into curators
