What gave me this idea?

When trying to think of an idea for CSYA's Ideathon, specifically healthcare wise, I thought about diseases. That's when it hit me. Cancer is one of, if not, the most disastrous diseases in terms of death count and people who have the disease, with millions contracting it per year. It occurs when a mutated cell in the body uncontrollably divides and spreads throughout the body, making it impossible to treat if diagnosed too late. Not only is it a mutation, but factors like smoking, exposure to toxic chemicals, and obesity can also be cause cancer. The extreme mortality rate of the disease paired with the high amount of people that contract it each year is what drove me to come up with CellCheck.

What would CellCheck do?

CellCheck would be a daily monitoring application on your phone which monitors your health to ensure that you're cancer free. Every day, you'll enter in basic information, such as your weight, what you've been eating, if you've been exercising, if you smoke, etc. Every few days/week, the app would use your data and calculate any abnormalities that could relate to signs of cancer. If you app detects that you do have cancer, it'll let you know immediately so you can get checked out and treated before it spreads throughout your body.

Why is CellCheck useful?

Not only would CellCheck be free, it's easily accessible by simply going on your phone. If this app was implemented into reality, it would certainly help millions of people each year protect themselves from cancer.
