What we learned

In developing our project, we gained valuable insights across various technical and collaborative dimensions. We explored the intricacies of celestial physics, enhancing our understanding and implementation skills in shaders and particle effects to realistically simulate cosmic phenomena. Our proficiency in spatial audio was also elevated, allowing us to create a more immersive auditory experience that complements the visual complexity of our star formations. The multiplayer aspect introduced us to the challenges and rewards of synchronizing experiences in a shared virtual environment, requiring us to refine our scene configuration and network interactions. Additionally, transforming educational material into a game format taught us innovative ways to engage users and facilitate learning through interactive play. Throughout this process, our team collaboration was pivotal, as we combined diverse skills and perspectives to overcome challenges and achieve our educational and astronomical goals.

What's next for Celestial Forger

As we continue to develop our project, several areas present opportunities for enhancement and expansion. Firstly, we aim to improve our educational tutorials to offer deeper insights into the formation and evolution of stars, ensuring they are both informative and engaging for users of all ages. We also plan to incorporate additional celestial bodies, broadening our universe beyond stars to include planets, asteroids, and comets, enriching the educational scope of the game. Enhancing the space-themed ambiance of the room environments will further immerse players in the cosmic setting. Expanding the game to support three or four players will allow more users to engage simultaneously, promoting collaborative learning and competition. Lastly, we intend to creatively integrate physical room elements, like furniture, into the gameplay, where they can serve functional roles related to star formation and evolution, thereby enhancing the interactivity and realism of the user experience.
