The calmest-looking water on the beach is often the most dangerous. When we dug into 16 years of NOAA storm records, rip currents stood out: 929 direct deaths, more than any other water hazard except flash floods. These deaths happen one swimmer at a time. Warnings already exist, and people still drown on red-flag days. So we built a detection + alert system that watches beach camera feeds, spots rip currents as they form, and sends on-duty lifeguards the exact zone and severity, so they can clear the water before anyone gets pulled out. No app for tourists, no new hardware, just an extra set of eyes for the people already on the stand. Don't let it rip.
