Inspiration
We wanted to bring an immersive yet functional CCTV system into game play and mobile-friendly experiences. The idea was to make surveillance interactive and easy to manage—whether for security scenarios, strategy games, or creative builds.
What it does
Our CCTV Camera Control system provides a plug-and-play solution with a custom HUD (Heads-Up Display) for smooth navigation between multiple cameras. Place cameras anywhere in your environment. Clone cameras into the network instantly—no manual setup needed. Switch seamlessly between feeds via a mobile-optimized HUD.
How we built it
We designed a camera entity system where every added or cloned camera automatically registers to the CCTV network. The HUD is lightweight and mobile-friendly, ensuring smooth interaction on smaller screens.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the camera-switching logic snappy and seamless. Avoiding performance issues when multiple cameras are active.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully modular camera system that works out of the box. Created a clean, intuitive HUD for navigating between feeds. Made the system scalable and clone-friendly, so adding cameras is effortless.
What we learned
Designing for mobile-first interaction requires trimming down features to essentials. A modular approach makes the system far more adaptable across different use cases. Balancing visuals and performance is crucial for smooth real-time camera switching.
What's next for CCTV Camera Control
Adding zoom, pan, and tilt controls. Integrating alerts/markers when activity is detected. Expanding to multiplayer support, so multiple users can access the CCTV network at once. Offering skins and customization for the HUD to match different game themes.
