Inspiration

COVID-19 not only separates us from others, but also creates a great deal of uncertainty. Since the beginning of the pandemic, fear, stress, and confusion were all very prominent emotions. At the same time, face-to-face counselling sessions were no longer considered safe because of covid. It's critical to have a virtual platform where therapists and their clients may work together. This is how the idea of building an application for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) was born.

What it does

The CBT Bridge Application bridges the gap between clients and their therapists, while allowing for self guided CBT. What sets our app apart is its ability for therapists to assign exercises and monitor the client’s mental health conditions. CBT needs to be continued through patients’ everyday lives, but it is possible for patients to encounter difficulties because of the lack of guidance. Our app not only guides patients through the exercises assigned by their therapists but also gives corresponding exercises based on the patients’ conditions at a specific moment.

How we built it

We used Figma to create a prototype of our CBT Bridge Application.

Challenges we ran into

All our members are first time hackers; this led to some initial confusion when starting the project since we all have limited coding and Figma experience. We had to use google and trial and error to create the app prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We planned our time well and we all learned how to build a prototype using Figma from the beginning. We were also able to work very well together and we are proud of ourselves for creating this prototype in less than 24 hours!

What we learned

We learned a lot about User Interface design using the platform Figma and how difficult it actually is to create an app that is aesthetically appealing to viewers. We also learned how to pitch a project and pitching techniques.

What's next for CBT Bridge Application

We want to be able to start creating the code for the app so that we can bring our prototype to life! We also want to include more psychotherapy features to make the app more accessible and effective for users and therapists.
