Inspiration
Seeing the disadvantaged communities in India and the lack of immediate access to healthcare made me want to bridge that gap.
What it does
CB-DOT is a 2 part point-of-care CBC test. The hardware component allows patients to give a small amount of blood and determines the various cell count in the sample size. The software component would read the patient data and see if there are any anomalies and would report that on the device's screen. This would simplify the physician's job in analyzing the data by giving results in real-time.
How I built it
Java, Machine Learning models, Impedance Circuits and Microfluidics
Challenges I ran into
Establishing the software code to track patient history
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Developing the chip and coming with the business model!
What I learned
Teamwork and determination will help you achieve any goal!
What's next for CB-DOT
We hope to file a utility patent by the end of the year, and will use the funding to contribute to prototype development.
