LET'S FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 AND WIN!!!

Inspiration!!

We are Poonam , Harshini, Paavani and Jahnavi , four sophomores in the coding world .This is our first hackathon and as newbies our plan was to create a project on something which we are passionate about , something interesting and also that provides a message for people. So we decided to build 2 simple games , which emphasizes on the importance of being cautious to protect ourselves and also the importance of taking vaccine as a shield from the most important scenario , the covid 19 pandemic!

What it does ?

Both the games - Caution game and Corona Warriors are aimed at providing an awareness for people regarding covid 19. Caution game, is a game which is basically a road-obstacle game . The player has to make sure that the ambulance does not hit any obstacle , (which is the corona virus here) and the score increases depending on how far the player will reach without hitting any obsctacle. Corona Warriors , is a game where the player has to prevent the corona virus from reaching the earth. The player has a weapon(which is the vaccine), which drives the virus away. The game gets over , if one of the virus touches the surface.

How we build it ?

We used javascript , html and css. Caution game is mainly based on HTML . Corona warriors based mainly on javascript.

Challenges we ran into...

The first challenge was to choose what project to work on and to make a plan and implement it in the best possible way. Building a game was a new experience for us and we had to learn everytyhing from the scratch about the same. Creating an error free program for both the games within such a shot span of time of 36 hours was the biggest challenge.

Accomplishments that we are proud of!!

-We are proud that we could make two simple games inspite of having no experience at all in this field. -This is our first hackathon , so we are very happy with what we were able to do within the short span of time.

Working with a team virtually and creating this project was a difficult job , which we could make possible.
The games provide awareness about the covid scenario not only among the adults but also to children and hence helping them to be safe.

What we learnt ?

We were able to learn a lot of new and interesting things about the project like graphics in a game , how to work with images used in game , how to control keyboard movements in a game through code and many more and we are very happy about that.
