What is 'Cause of Death'

'Cause of death' is a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs— digital collectibles. These illustrations will picture the fallen and their causes of demise leaving the rest to your imagination. The cause can vary from 'spider bites' to ''monster attacks' and sometimes, multiple causes will be in effect depending on where they have ventured last in this vast vicious world.

Inspiration

we drew inspirations from Cryptopunks, Avastars, Bored Ape Yacht Club and guttercatgang

What it does

Each of these illustrations is algorithmically generated by combining 5 major categories with varying Traits

CHARACTER RACES - Elfs, Humans, Demons, Orcs and Beastmen

TRAITS - Skin Color, Hair type/color, Cloth type/color, Cause of death and Backgrounds.

RARITY - Only a few can survive these causes and effects to overcome death as 'Survivors' in this world.

How we built it

We are a team of two, Myself and Jordan Gray. I am responsible for the art. I clearly wanted to create something fun but with a twist that leads to the idea of 'cause of Death'. Every layer is made in pixels and exported to PNG in layers. Jordan Gray did the technical part of compositing the layers, generating multiple variations of vibrant and twisted 'Cause of Death'. More scaffolding for this project such as the front end application and smart contract are available as part of the Punk Du Jour submission.

What's next for CAUSE OF DEATH

we would like to expand on the world, Including more Character/ beast types and backstories of these daring characters and more causes.
