Inspiration
The inspiration came from wanting to do something educational but also exciting and challenging for kids.
What it does
It quizzes kids on their speed and ability to solve addition problems, but can also just as easily be used to test subtraction and division, multiplication, etc.
How we built it
We made most of the code through scratch, the art was drawn in paint tool sai
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that we ran into were movements of the aliens, making the questions and also just generally debugging everything. On top of these challenges, we also had half of our team leave the first day and the rest of us had to push through.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud that we were able to make a functioning(kinda) game despite missing half of our team, constant distractions(virus, box forts, mentor leaving)
What we learned
We learned quite a bit about phaser(we weren't able to get it to work) and a bit of html. Plus some communication skills
What's next for Caturday Math
We hope to work on getting better at phaser and expanding the complexity of our game.
