We wanted to make a fun game that included cute assets and was fun to play. We wanted to learn more about how to make something cross platform (our game works on both mobile and PC). Two members of the team had limited programming experience so we wanted something fun we could use to learn with.
What it does
A Tower Defense game themed around cats battling dogs. You can buy different towers to attack the range of enemies, and plan strategic manoeuvres. We even have a secret boost mode that turns all towers into our powerful hero Danny DeVito!
How we built it
We worked together to build an AI system, develop different towers and customise all of our enemies. Two of us focused on code, and our third member helped with level design and UI.
Challenges we ran into
There were a few functions in Unity we hadn't used and struggled with, and we struggled with teaching two beginners how to code and use the software.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of the UI and the health bar system.
What we learned
We learnt how to make cross platform games and how to develop in Unity more efficiently.
What's next for Cats Vs Dogs Tower Defense
