Inspiration

This project was built for the CSU VR/AR Create-a-thon. Our idea was chosen from a list of ideas submitted by professors from different departments and my team placed first. Current Concussion testing is not very accurate because there is no way to determine whether players are ready to return to their respective sports or not. Doctor conducted tests provide some accuracy but not as much as having players go through a series of tests to assess their return-to-play readiness

What it does

Players put on a VR headset and go through a series of tests

How I built it

Unreal Engine 4.2

Challenges I ran into

Time constraint, This project had to be done in 48 hours before it was presented to judges at the CSU AR/VR Create-a-thon

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Building a demo in 48 hours and winning 1st place!

What I learned

Improved rapid prototyping skills Better teamwork when under a deadline

What's next for CAT (Virtual reality Concussion Assessment Tool)

Currently working with a professor in the occupational therapy department at Colorado State university to tailor the application for football players. Adding many distractions to simulate a real football stadium including sound distractions and dummy players.
