Inspiration

We were inspired to teach people music in a fun and interactive way. During the pandemic it has become harder to learn music as in person lessons cannot take place. Music lessons are also quite expensive. We wanted to make music accessible to all. Piano cat is also fun and interactive which keeps people engaged and wanting to learn more. This is particularly important for children when learning music who can easily become bored and don't understand things when music is being taught.

What it does

Teaches people music by showing notes to well known songs such as happy birthday, jingle bells and twinkle twinkle little star. If you click the right note on the piano, the cat is happy. If you select the wrong note the cat is sad. There are two options with piano cat - you can either click the key using your mouse or you can play using the keyboard with different letters corresponding to the notes.

Future of Piano Cat

The difficulty could be increased by removing the note names on the piano keys. We could also increase sheet music learning where the note being played lights up so you know which note you are playing. Other instruments could be introduced too so that people learn more about music
