Inspiration

Cats breaking things and making mischief is often due to a lack of communication. However, it is not easy to try to communicate with them. They may be wary of you. Many owners struggle to understand their cat's feelings and to have skinship with it. We developed this system because we wanted to solve this problem by using technology.

What it does

Cat Comm offers a variety of opportunities to facilitate communication with cats.

a function to play with the cat by playing the cat's meow
the function to translate the cat's words
a function to express the cat's words in real time
a function that can attract the cat's interest like catnip

In particular, the function for analyzing cat meows uses AI technology to achieve a high level of accuracy. These functions enable you to have more active communication with your cat.

How we built it

We investigated what methods are available for communicating with cats through user interviews. Based on these results, we identified and implemented functions that are in demand.

Challenges we ran into

Determining whether the sound is a cat's meow; by utilizing the native iOS API, it was possible to determine whether the sound is that of a cat.
Determining the emotions of cats, and the use of speech analysis and ChatGPT allowed mapping of cat features and emotions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a unique app that not only helps cat owners understand their pets better but also provides an enjoyable, interactive experience. The implementation of the AI-powered sound analysis was a significant achievement.
